Alex's works are inspired by and taken from the land surrounding Riverland Workshop, along the banks of the Little Delaware River. River-tossed stones from the Devonian, often encrusted with bioforms, find support from branches from the surrounding woods - beech, elm, forsythia, even beaver-cut. Form meets function in these one-of-a-kind pieces. New works use common woods in unexpected ways - rough-cut barn boards, whole trees.
We are very excited to announce that Alex is part of this year’s 24th annual Stagecoach Run Art Festival, showing his work at the Gallery at 56 Main. The gallery will be open for this and other shows, as well as by appointment and chance.
